Gags Smile

Why does my cat's meow sound different? She gags a lot?

My cat usually has a very clear and high pitched meow but during the last few days, her meow sounds like she has a frog in her throat. She also makes gagging sounds sometimes, especially after she eats. She doesn't throw up though. What could be causing this?

  1. feed it differently
  2. Well, first of all, get her to a vet immediately. In the meantime, it sounds like she might have a fur ball stuck in her throat. She may eventually cough it up. Keep a very close eye on her until you see the vet.
  3. Sounds like an upper respiratory infection. I`d take her to the vet.
  4. Your cat has worms. Buy some cat's worming pills & follow instructions. Cats need worming every 3 months.
  5. it sounds like a fur ball to me
  6. Take the kitty to the vet. There could be something terribly wrong with it. Some hacking is normal--but not if it is happening often. Better safe than sorry.
  7. maybe she is an adut cat now
