I always stick up for my brother but he will never stick up for me!?

I feel like my brother and i are close but one thing that gets me so mad is he will never stick up for me... it could be my dad talking smack or someone who i guess has a problem with me but he will just listen to what they say and not say anything. It really hurts my feeling because if anyone talked smack about him i would totally say something and i have before. Like it's so messed up when my dad talks sh*t about me because my brother will just laugh or not say anything and then he says no i would stick up for you.. i just don't get it. another thing is i do nice things for him all the time like drive him where he wants to go, cook him food when my moms not home, give him money and he gets mad if i ask him to get me water when he's in the kitchen. why is he like that?

1. Because boys will be boys no matter what. The same used to happen with me and my brother. No matter how much i stuck up for him and did favors for him, he would never returnthe favor or stick up for me. It's a guy thing. I think it deals with their self-esteem. They like to be in control, and when you stick up for him or get him something, he's in control. But when you are being talked about or want him to get you something, he feels like he's your bitch lol. Guys don't like to do things out of the goodness of their hearts, rather, they just want to be top boss and as long as they're being respected, they can care less what's going on with you. =)
2. Because he is your brother and that is the way brothers are. Don't worry when the chips are down and you truly need him he will be there for you.
